Topshop Delights

Just a few items from Topshop that caught my eye. The ruffles, sheer fabrics and colours really reminded me of the Marc Jacobs collection.

Marc Jacobs, Spring 2010

I completely fell in love with the spring 2010 Marc Jacobs’s collection, as I do with everything that man creates! He managed to whisk me away into a world of opulence and beauty, a place where everyone visits the Opera darling! He has certainly moved away from the 80’s and instead created a collection dominated with Aladdin pants, ruffles and sheer fabrics, accompanied by baby blues, creams and soft pink and lilac hues. Rich mauve’s and chocolate browns also take centre stage. Lingerie becomes outerwear in rich silks, their shapes reminiscent of the 1970's. Black is scarce among this collection and if there at all, it is cut out, revealing the flesh and is paired with dusty pinks. Patterned long, heavy skirts are also present, probably not for most people but they are certainly a refreshing new shape to embrace after the body-con, figure hugging skirts of the winter.

I adore the combination of the black and pink and the cutting out just makes it better.



I love the simplicity of this look. The shirt underneath the ruffles gives a sort of androgynous romanticism that seems almost paradoxical...

I adore how the scarf is wrapped so neatly around her neck and the soft patterned colours (especially the pants) paired with the deeper blue works wonderfully.

The ruffles are beautiful, it makes me think of good old fashioned romance.

I think it's the combination of the blue and pink that catches my eye the most here. Baby chic?

This look is probably my favourite one. I love the layering and how the different textures look as if they have been thrown together so effortlessly. The rich pearly colours and flowing Aladdin pants make the look so beautifully ethereal.
